Sharon Reay, Burnaby, Viking Ship Server, Soda Fired Stoneware, Extruded, handbuilt and carved, 19.5”L X 4.5”W X 5.5”H.

For over 40 years, Sharon has been a maker. She has exhibited and sold work through shops and galleries, taught clay classes to all ages and was the Ceramic Arts Programmer for Burnaby’s Shadbolt Centre for the Arts for 27 years. Retiring in 2017, she has now re-positioned back into her studio.  Much of 2019 was spent at the Museum of Anthropology, as their Ceramic Artist in Residence. Sharon’s (often ‘soda-fired’) work, combines elements of wheel thrown, extruded and sculptural techniques and reflects her love of both the natural world and that found in children’s illustrated literature.
