Peter Flanagan, Plate with leaf design, 7 inches dia (17.8 cm dia)
Peter Flanagan operates a home-based studio, Okanagan Pottery, in Peachland BC. Peter studied ceramics at the Kootenay School of Art, the Banff Centre, and the University of Victoria, where he received his BA in Art History. He moved with his wife, Daphne, to the Okanagan in 1985, joining a pottery studio started in 1968 by his father-in-law, Des Loan. He produces thrown work, notably heroically-scaled chargers incorporating native clays and local materials, as well as pressed and slipcast tableware. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, and has received awards and recognition in Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the USA. For more, please see his website here.
